SINGAPORE - Three people were sent to hospital after an accident involving five cars at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 around 6.30pm on Wednesday.

The collision involved a police car, a taxi and three cars.

When The New Paper arrived at the scene an hour later, the police had closed off two lanes to traffic and vehicle parts could be seen lying by the roadside.

Madam Lim Kim Huey, 53, told TNP that she was at a nearby coffee shop when she heard a series of noises.

She said she rushed out, followed by others, to see what had happened and saw a man trying to help a woman out of the last car, but he was unsuccessful.

She said Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers arrived a little later and helped the woman.

Madam Lim recounted: "She was unconscious. I think her legs were stuck."

She also saw a woman run out of the fourth car carrying a young girl.

An SCDF spokesman said two ambulances, two fire bikes, two fire engines and a support vehicle were sent to the scene.

Two of the injured were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, while a five-year-old girl was sent to KK Women's and Children's Hospital.
